Casting director
I took on the role of casting director by approaching members of our class and asking who would be happy to be involved in the project. This allowed us to form a reliable cast of people we knew would be enthusiastic and available during filming (which was proven to be a bit difficult).
Storyboarding
I created the storyboard by hand, carefully planning each shot. I included detailed notes on mise-en-scène, lighting, editing techniques, sound, and camera angles. This acted as a visual guide during filming and helped keep our creative vision consistent. We also showed this to the class to get their constructive feedback.
Location scout
I was responsible for finding suitable filming locations based on our script’s requirements. We needed a commercial-looking kitchen (which i decided we could use the kitchen in the dance studio and just book it out one afternoon to record), an outdoor setting for a news reporter scene, and a believable home interior for the final shots. After researching and considering our resources, we decided to film at my house, which offered the right atmosphere and accessibility.
Costume designer
I selected and brought in all the costumes for the film. I chose black aprons to give the kitchen scenes a clean, professional “Michelin-star” look. I also sourced a silver ring, which became an important motif in our film, subtly linking the chef's identity through visual storytelling.
Storyline
The storyline was developed through a long process of trial and error. I was responsible for crafting the narrative, making sure it created intrigue while fitting our chosen theme of psychological suspense and horror.
Brainstorm
I led the initial brainstorming sessions that helped generate and refine our film’s concept. This early planning phase helped us clarify the mood, genre, and themes we wanted to explore.
The Original Idea
The original concept for the film came from my imagination. It evolved through collaboration, feedback, and practical adjustments, but the core vision blending fine dining with horror remained at the heart of the project.
